# Custom Ped Preview Support

Save per cloth ped support profiles for accurate 3D previews

## Introduction

The 3D preview puts your garment on a freemode ped. For most clothing the automatic choice of supporting body parts is right. For some it is not: a garment authored against a custom skeleton, a top designed to be worn over a specific undershirt, or a boot that only sits correctly on a particular leg mesh.

A **ped support profile** saves that setup with the cloth, so the preview is right every time you open it without having to set up the same supporting parts again.

## What a profile holds

* A **custom YFT skeleton**, when the garment was authored against one.
* The supporting **upper body**, **lower body** and **feet** models used beneath **Body**, **Legs**, **Shoes**, **Undershirt**, **Armor** and **Top** garments.

For each applicable body region you can choose:

| Choice                        | Effect                                                   |
| ----------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Automatic** | DCT picks the supporting model, the previous behaviour |
| **Unloaded** | The slot is genuinely emptied, not filled with a default |
| **Installed base game model** | A specific installed game or DLC model and texture |
| **Another project cloth** | A compatible drawable from the same project |
| **Imported YDD** | An external model, with an optional YTD |

## Save a matching torso for a top

1. Preview the top and focus it in the **Outfit** tab.
2. In **Support profile (saved with this cloth)**, select **Configure focused cloth support**.
3. For the supporting upper body, choose the matching installed game model or **Another project cloth**, then select the torso and texture you need.
4. Save the profile. DCT loads that support automatically the next time you preview the top.

{% hint style="warning" %}
The clothing must already be made for the chosen body and skeleton. A support profile does not resize or retarget clothes, repair rigging, or make every torso fit every top. Use body parts designed to work together and check the result in game.
{% endhint %}

## Where profiles travel

A profile follows its cloth through:

* Project saves
* Project History entries
* Duplication
* Project merges
* Exports
* DCT item packages

So a package you hand to a teammate previews the way you set it up.

## Wearing several items at once

When you preview a full outfit, DCT merges the profiles of the items you are wearing. Compatible profiles combine. Where two items disagree, or where a profile refers to a source that is not available, the preview says so rather than picking silently.

Support models replace what is in their own slot, so a profile cannot quietly hide a garment you deliberately put on.

{% hint style="info" %}
Use the **Ped** tab for a temporary change to game clothing or props. **Save as my default** keeps your local character setup for future previews. A cloth support profile is different: it belongs to one garment and travels with that garment. A project item already worn in a slot takes priority; select **Take off** in Ped before replacing it with a game component.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
A ped support profile affects the **3D preview only**. It is never written into the built resource, so it cannot change what a player sees in game.
{% endhint %}
